The Saber Owners Association is trying to update our database and is trying to find as many of the 87 Sabre 20’s, 30 Sabre 22’s and and Sabre 25’s that may be about. We currently have about 30 boats on our database at this present time.
If you own a Sabre Trailer Sailor, or know someone that does – in use or not, under cover and under a tree even just parked in ashed – we would like to hear from you. There have been one or two stripped and being used for fishing boats. We would like to hear from their owners as well.
We have a number of people wanting to buy a Sabre yacht, so if you know one for sale or you want to sell yours please send us the details.
Send your contact details to: Clive and Jo Martin Box 7118 Te Ngae Rotorua 3042 PH: 07 362 4646 FAX: 07 362 4696
Happy Sailing.

Hi Clive…
I have recently bought a Sabre 20 and would like to make contact with other owners. Do u have an email address for the Sabre Trailer Sailer Owners' Assn [plus yours] please ?
Just after I bought it I happened to be staying for a few days at a motor camp in the Far North and Alan Scott who designed/built the Sabre 20 was staying there…so I learnt a lot about the boat and his former company Sabre Yachts. It was an amazing chance encounter !!!
I hope to hear from u…all the best !
Regards

Clive!
I hope to get one of these one day, I have sailed on one of these before and have found them to be a great sailing yacht.

Hi everyone
My wife and I have recently bought a Sabre 20 - in need of a little TLC. Over the winter months we will be getting the boat ready for trips around the Marlborough Sounds. If anyone is sailing in the area please feel free to call us.

Hi Guys,
I have a 79 Sabre 20 called Tardis.
I have been undergoing re-doing her full interior, and it has takin me the better part of the year! Cant wait for full swing summer to get out in her asap! (Sabre interiors seem to have a far better layout than a Noelex or Farr)
Rod i would be very interested in a copy of ANY info you have on Sabre20's as they are not easy to get plans of even Advertisments on them. Iknow my boat pretty well but would be good to see profiles etc on plans. Im not sure if mine was factory made or assembled by a home boatie.
My email is Daniel.rose@opus.co.nz if you could email me any info you have.

The spreaders on sabre have obviously had some rough treatment in the past.Although they feel very strong, they are not a rigid fit (slightly loose) at mast and at an exaggerated upward angle to the mast. Am I right in assuming they should be either horizontal or at max 5 degrees upward from horizontal?
I think we should be concerned and get it repaired however there are no rigging specialists in New Plymouth that I know of so can anyone suggest how to dissassemble and make repair.
Are there any thoughts on this matter?

Hi, I have a Sabre 20 in Plimmerton near wellington (actually the 2nd ever made according to the number on the inside of the transom). I had a new trailer constructed for it, but never go out these days. I'm thinking about selling to someone who would give her some use - have not actually advertised though. You can contact me at beauchamp.translate@xtra.co.nz if interested
cheers
Matt
